2024 Winter Basketball

Come join us for another season of basketball. It is a fun and exciting program that introduces everyone to the game of basketball. The goal of this league is to develop players while learning the basics, which include, passing, shooting, and teamwork. The focus will be on building character, good sportsmanship, skill development, and having FUN!

** THERE WILL BE NO REQUESTS TAKEN FOR THIS LEAGUE **

** THERE WILL ONLY BE TWO COACHES PER TEAM**

** Coaches will draft their own team…evaluation for players will be on Saturday, December 2nd. Time will be announced. Biddy ball will not participate in the evaluation. **

YMCA Basketball Skills Evaluation Information

Date: Saturday, December 2^nd

All players, even the coach’s children, must attend the skills evaluation to be ranked for the player draft.

Each player will go through a series of stations to demonstrate their skills and be given an individual score. Scores will be collected and analyzed by YMCA staff. Skills will include dribbling, shooting, speed, height, and defense. Stations will be completed by one player at a time. This should take no longer than 20 minutes per player once they begin completing the stations. Coaches will receive information individually about the draft day process and time. Coaches may attend while their child is being evaluated but are not allowed to view the remainder of the evaluation process.

Please see below for information regarding your players’ age group. You may drop-in during your scheduled time.

Biddy ball players will not participate in the skills day. Teams will be generated at random.

• Novice (6 – 7 years old)

  • Time: 9:00AM – 11:00AM (Drop-in during this time)

• Intermediate (8 – 9 years old)

  • Time: 12:00PM – 2:00PM (Drop-in during this time)

• Youth (10 – 12 years old)

• • Time: 3:00PM – 5:00 PM (Drop-in during this time)

• Junior (13 -15 years old)

  • Time: 3:00PM – 5:00PM (Drop-in during this time)

• Girls Developmental League (4^th, 5^th, 6^th Grade)

  • Time: 3:00PM – 5:00PM (Drop-in during this time)

If your child misses the evaluation day on Saturday, December 2^nd there will be a make-up evaluation on Tuesday, December 5^th, from 5:30PM until 7:30PM all age groups may come during this time.
